Blewbury Church Window - Project Resound
Since it was built in the 11th century, the Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, Blewbury, has been improved in some way during every century.
For the 21st Century it was decided to replace one of the windows with something really special and Project Resound was born.
My good friend Richard Loyd was appointed Project Manager for this £78k window and asked me to record the latter progress and the result.
The images were taken over several visits with the close up shots taken while the scaffolding was still inside allowing me to capture some of the extraordinary detail of Rachel Phillips' exceptional artistry.
The Banners, by Studio Melyn, depict bell ringers 'Changes' and the mirrored surfaces expand the width of the window to superb effect.
The window was dedicated on 7th January 2020 by Bishop Colin of Dorchester Abbey.
I couldn't come away without photographing some of the other windows in the church, which are at the bottom of the gallery.
Enjoy!
