Welcome
The Elvendon Valley is a picturesque valley to the East of Goring-on-Thames in Rural Oxfordshire, UK.
The Goring Gap lies between the Chiltern Hills and the Wessex (or Berkshire) Downs with the river Thames running between.
It is an Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty visited by thousands every year.
The villages of Goring (Oxfordshire) and Streatley (Berkshire) are separated by the mighty Thames, but joined by a picturesque pair of bridges from where you can admire the view of the weirs and lock as well as the hills around.
One mile upstream of Goring Lock is Cleeve Lock. This is the shortest reach on the Thames. The reach above that, to Benson Lock, is the longest at eight miles.
The Thames Path and The Ridgeway Path both cross the Thames between the two villages. The Chiltern Way and Icknield Way also pass through the village and link with other ancient paths such as the Swans Way.
This web site is constantly being updated and contains many of my images, both local and from further afield.
I hope you enjoy this site and, in particular, the image galleries.
Please do let me know what you think.
All images are for sale. Just Contact Me with details of what you're interested in and for more information.
